Emanating from industrial rock band Black Light Burns, Cover Your Heart is aptly named, and very entertaining. The album contains what the bands calls a “deconstruction and reconstruction” of some of their favorite songs, ranging in artists from Duran Duran to Iggy and the Stooges to Fiona Apple, BLB is fronted by Wes Borland, former guitarist of Limp Bizkit.
I admit I had prejudices dude to this association, but then I kept in mind the difference: Wes Borland is not Fred Durst. This album is well structured and put together, featuring a spread of different sounds and textures. The electro-pop version of “Hungry Like the Wolf” is a notable mention. The last several tracks are instrumental, and even more fascinating.
