True Romance

True Romance
True Romance

True Romance is an idea I first had in the throes of heartache (obviously). And though this scenario is absolutely impossible in a post-9/11 society, it was cathartic to draw. What I find universal about True Romance is how intrinsically connected love and loathing are, and how easily the former turns into the latter.

Seriously, though, it’s bizarre to me how I used to have “love” for someone and have it turn into its twisted sibling “hate”… Both make us act irrationally and both spawn equally terrible poetry. Both love and hate make my heart race (for different reasons, of course). Sometimes brains –and hearts– are awfully stupid. Though, to be fair, love and “True Romance” are stupid too… but I’ve also turned into an emotionless cynic.

Here is our Archive of all published Mousebear Comics. Marvel at how terrible the quality used to be (or still is). These are merely cynical musings of two cautiously handsome Schadenfreudes. That’s right, we are increasingly bitterly or sneeringly distrustful, contemptuous, or pessimistic.

We welcome you to our accumulation of visual historical records organized over the lifetime of Mousebear Comedy. These comics have been selected for permanent or long-term preservation on grounds of their enduring personal value.
