White Christmas is an idea we’ve had for a long, long time. We first tried to pitch it as a full sketch for a holiday burlesque show at a community theatre we had ties to. However, the joke was bastardized from a full five-minute sketch into a 30-second punchline. At the time, we were furious, and the next year we took our full-length sketch to a rival theatre and were allowed to perform it as written.
The response we got when we performed the full sketch was great. People loved it. It was a great moment of spite, because the owner of the first theatre, actually came to see the show in it’s full form, and saw the response. He knew he was wrong, and came up to us hat in hand to admit that he was wrong. That was satisfying.
This is also our 100th comic, after starting up this webcomic thing back in the beginning of January. We’ve had some ups, some downs… we’ve had days with a lot of hits, and many more days with little hits… but this comic is one I had wanted to do from the beginning. I just had to wait 12 months until I could post it.
